Neutron decides whether a question needs web search. When it does, Fast and Balanced use Gemini grounding. High Power and Political Intel use Perplexity search. The Research toggle routes search through Perplexity and can retrieve fuller text from cited pages when available.
Search evidence feeds later analysis and synthesis steps. High Power and Political Intel can add a Claude analyst pass when search evidence is available and search has not reported an outage. Gemini is the primary synthesis model. Pulsar Search can supply additional civic-data context when available. Citations link to the underlying sources.
Neutron does not run ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini as three independent answers for every question. The model path depends on mode, account access, available evidence, and service availability. The configured fallback chain can try another model if the primary synthesis request fails.
The response metadata records the synthesis model and any completed Claude analyst pass. This describes the configured implementation, not a live test of provider availability or answer quality.
Neutron can miss, mis-weight, or misinterpret a source. Where an answer includes citations, open the linked sources and verify the claims before using or publishing the result. Treat an answer without source links as unverified.
